K-pop has become globally known because of Hallyu (Korean culture wave). K-pop is increasingly gaining popularity due to its catchy melodies and choreography, personality, storytelling and the help of social media like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Mainly the internet.

K-pop group BLACKPINK is now officially the most streamed female group on Spotify, Guinness World Records confirmed on 8 March. The group broke the record held by the British girl group Little Mix, which had reached the milestone on 14 December 2021

  • From portable speakers and headphones to music streaming apps, we can now take our favorite songs with us wherever we go. All it takes is a few taps of the screen or a couple of mouse clicks, and you're listening to your favorite songs at home, on the go, really anywhere. 

4) How do BLACKPINK and K-pop show that the media and music industries are now global?

Since K-Pop's beginning with the first generation of K-pop idols in the 1990s, it has opened a new realm in music that combines genres such as Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, EDM, and many more while also incorporating their traditional Korean musical roots.
