Remy GCSE Media Studies

  Denotation I see a boy who looks upset but also angry that is staring at the audience of Water-aid. I also see a slogan saying "Dig Toilets Not graves" and the company "Water-aid”. The setting is in a hot poor are and the boy is wearing a cheap rundown outfit. Connotations The slogan "Dig Toilets not graves” means that not enough toilets are being built for them and that there are too many graves. The child looks like that because they are trying to make him look disappointed. They are trying to send a message that this country needs water. It also helps the motif which is to donate to the charity. The ethos is to a dark and miserable hot country desperately in need of charity. Analysis This makes the target audience feel guilty because they aren't helping children like this one and a toilet is a common household object we underestimate when they don't have it.-+
